When a food critic turns the poison pen on herself

About Me May 15, 2008

Teo Pau Lin is a former food writer whose real ambition is to become a wedding cake maker. In the course of baking her cakes and writing this blog, she neglects her husband and leaves their kid to the in-laws. One day, all wedding cakes in Singapore will be made by her. (Or not).

    Hi Crummb,
Upon reading your blog, I’m amazed how much we have in common! I can positively identify with all your nightmares, and I also have a 9 mth old girl, also called En. Haha. In my first trimester I stayed up the whole night once trying to survive someone’s wedding cake, and I told her, “Please hang in there with me, darling.” It’s great coming across someone with the same passions. Would be great if we could keep in touch!

  4. Ruby Says:

    Hey there!!
How are things going? i hope you and the family are all well..

Now i know that you are probably extremely busy looking after new beautiful baby cuteness… but selfishly i want to say.. i’m starving for some new entries… what has my favourite cake baking mama been up to???

i think i could possibly be a little obsessed ha ha… my poor deprived and suffering soul has found itself reading and rereading your old blogs.. a exercise that has not been fruitless in the least.. even if i read it a million times, the way you write, and the things you do still enthrall… i’m mad i know.. but hey.. i’m definately a BIG fan.. no other food blog will do.. its Crummb or the road… ha ha.. and for Z.. the photos just make everything look so mouthwatering i sit staring and wondering if i should attempt making some of your delish cakes just so i can say.. I know what that tastes like.. oh yeah.. i know… but then.. i know, it will probably not taste the same… but i will try!!!! Darn it!! and then i broke my electric mixer beating things til they are light and fluffy ha ha ha.. but hey.. you get great arm muscles doing it by hand.. and husbands are useful for all that manual labour too.. lucky for me, mine complies because he knows he will get to taste the fruits of his labour a little later..

but back to you… you are missed… and like a spoilt little child.. i want more!!!!

but i shall patiently wait… and read and reread all that has come to pass.. because i can still lick inspiration off your old blogs…

    keep well,

    with love
    Kat..

    • crummb Says:

kat kat kat.. who needs therapy when i have you? haha thanks for the encouragement!! i’ve baked a few things over the past few weeks but they’re either inedible or i just can’t think of anything to write about them. but will post one by next week – promise! hugs 🙂
